Welcome Tree Mural project at Bentley Hospital

2018

Carolyn shared the hospital’s vision in creating a welcoming area for clients, staff and visitors in the locked psychiatric ward to beautify their surroundings.

The project started with a welcoming tree and evolved into a mural, inclusive of patient’s requests, feedback and participation in painting on the walls.

22 patients & 11 staff participated in the mural project, and it took 21 days to complete.

Matthew Snook, Occupational Therapist

”I very much valued Carolyn’s approach with the patients to ensure everyone had input and was included in some way.

This inclusive approach brought a positive and welcoming environment to the ward, which was highly valued by the staff and patients here at Bentley Hospital.”
